I do! I do! I do!

I just love Kelly's idea from Kelly's Korner to post about wedding dresses. So, I thought I would join in the fun and "Show You My Life."

We've been married almost 8 years and I still love my dress. I remember knowing it was the "one" as soon as I tried it on.
It was on sale, too, which makes me love it even more :)

Here we are coming out of the church, just after being married!

My dress was made of shantung silk with a bateau neckline. One of my favorite things about it was the inverted pleat on the skirt, with an underskirt peaking through. The beading on the front of the dress went down the center of the bodice and helped me look a bit taller on my wedding day. (With a little help from the insanely high heels I was wearing that day! )

Here we are for formal pics after the ceremony.

I think my favorite part, though, was my veil. It was my mother's and I felt so honored to wear it on my wedding day. She and my dad were married in 1960, so her style was very Grace Kelly. I bought the dress first and was so excited when we pulled out my mom's headpiece and it worked perfectly. We added a little more beading to it to help tie it together with the beading on my dress. And, we added a new veil.

Wouldn't it be neat if one day my girls wore this veil for their weddings, too? I hope we've started a family tradition! Thanks for letting me share some of my wedding memories :)
